Total make over commission

I had the opportunity to do a total make over on a doll of a friend. She only requested I add in Runes and give him skin texture in his face-up. The rest.... was allllll up to me to decide.
I started out doing his face-up, then went on the finding a suiting wig and clothes.
When styling his clothes and wig I tried to make this as cheap on the owner as possible so I used as much of her own items as possible. In the end I ended up only having to add the pants and the shirt from my collection. The shirt is one I made myself and the pants are simple jeans which I distressed with a blade.

Answering a Question about mod podge spray. Unable to reply to comments on my blog.

Hi everyone, and especially to anonymous who asked me a question on my sealant blog post.

I hope you get to read this, as I found I am for some odd reason unable to reply to your question on the post itself. Blogger doesn't seem to want to post my reply. And I tried a lot of times. So I thought i'd answer your question here, in the hope you will get to read it. And I also thought the answer would be of help to others as well.

Anonymous question to me was;
Is Mod Podge spray version any good to (final) seal your face-up.

I must honestly say I have never used the spray version of mod podge and thus I can not say if it is any good for face-ups. Or even safe to use on doll resin. But, if it is the same formula as the liquid version that comes in a bottle I would not use it so final seal your head. Mod podge tends to be a shinier that for example MSC. It's good to use on tattoo's and scars as that are just a little spots on your doll. But if you face is completely shiny it will look really weird compared to its body. I personally do not think it looks nice.
Ofcourse you can always try the formula, I would suggest you use a spare part or the headcap of your doll als a test area for the sealant. Just to make sure of it is safe and if it dries nicely before you potentially harm your face-up or the resin of your dolls head.

The story behind the picture:
This is the face-up I did for the winner of my face-up price at Epic Doll Fair.
It's one of the first times someone asked me to do a "gore" face-up on a doll.
It was so much fun to do, and so fun to work out how to make the stitches real stitches instead of painted on stitches. And how I could make the mouth look ripped without modding the head. But I think it worked out very well and it looks amazing. And i hope her owner will love her for a long time to come.

This was a fun challenge as it can be very hard to remake a face-up, certainly if your skill level has changed since the first time you did her.

A new Dutch BJD Convention

Have you heard the news already?
There is a whole brand new Dutch BJD convention named Epic DollFair.
The staff of the Dutch BJD Forum Epic Realm is organising this amazing new fair.
There will be lots of stalls and shops for you to visit, a Dollie first aid, a bring and buy and a place where you can meet all the other Dutch BJD lovers.
There will also be a lottery which amazing prices. All in all, something you do not want to miss.

New Layout for Blog and website

Hi Everyone.

No, there is nothing wrong with your Computer screen. And yes you are on the right blog.
What happened?
The answer is simple.
What happened is me getting tired of my old layout.
I have been very annoyed for some time with the pink and purple theme of my blog and website, and I felt it just didn't look good anymore. And besides, I thought the color scheme was an assault on the eyes. So I knew deep down it was time to change things up. Make a new layout for both sites that was beautiful and easy on the eyes.
And this is what came out of a long day of editing and making banners and such.
I am absolutely in love with this new simple and neutral design.
I hope you all like this new layout. And I am curious to your feedback on it. Please let me know in the comments what you think.

The story behind the picture:
about a week ago we had lovely weather here in the Netherlands and I Decided to bring Keiji out into the garden for a quick shoot with him. We have a huge clover patch in out grass, and I absolutely love clovers. I have a special connections with them for as long as I can remember. So I thought it would be a good idea to plop Keiji amidst the clovers and take some pictures. Ofcourse I had to add the cliche clover in the hair. Cause why not, right? I hope that lovely weather will be back soon, I want to take more dolls out into the garden or out to places with lots of flowers. They make for such pretty pictures. Fingers crossed it is.

The story behind the picture:
I recently had to buy a new laptop. My old one died on me after more that 6 years. But that came with a problem. The edit program I used was different. My old laptop had windows 7 and my new one is a windows 10 laptop. Unfortunately the windows 7 program was so much better and had so many more options than the 10 version. For example, I could not sharpen the image any more when it was a little blurry. Now, I have to admit I hardly use any editing in my pictures, except for some brightness, contrast en sharpening here and there. But if the program I used before is not able to do such basic edits, I just would not be able to do anything anymore. So I went in search for a new one and found one today. So here is a picture of Keoni for you made with my 50mm lens, Which I adore, btw.

An amazing girl names Dragonwings236 modded his head completely.
There not a sign left on the outside that will tell you he started out as a big lipped woman sculpt.
He is one of my most cherished dolls, just because he is one of a kind and his face is just amazing.
